"Roberts is advertised as the oldest onion burger restaurant in El Reno, so we chose it over the other restaurants. If you are one who enjoys non descript, low key diners, you will enjoy eating here as much as we did. There are no booths or tables, only diner bar seating. A great place to see your burger getting cooked up with onions on top and smashed flat together. Sitting there you can just feel the character of a long time eatery. Probably 10 to 12 stools around the bar. The prices are very reasonable this day and age, and the fries are excellent. I think I prefer my onions grilled and placed on top of the burger, but the burger itself was good. A small menu, burgers and hotdogs to my recollection. Only a menu board on the wall. No paper menus. More charm. A true hole in the wall, not for slack wearer's diner. Stop by and enjoy along with previous decades of customers."

"Cozy diner with the best onion burgers in town! There about 10 or so seats at the counter and a picnic table outside-limited space so be prepared to get the food to go if they're busy. We've tried the other two spots in El Reno for onion burgers but, Robert's has the best."

"Very glad I went out of my way to check out El Reno's burger scene. Robert's was the only restaurant open late when I passed through town, so I sat down for one of Oklahoma's classic onion burgers. Be aware: the "double" patty isn't two separate patties, but a single patty with twice the beef. In hindsight, I think the single would've been a more balanced burger, but I didn't ask about the difference and my gluttony got the best of me. The flavor of the burger was unique- a mix of raw, griddled, and slightly burnt onions, with some sharpness of mustard and creaminess of American cheese. The fries were solid, and the guys behind the counter were friendly and happy to help. Cheese, onion, and mustard (probably on a single patty) is the way to go here if you want a proper taste of one of America's foundational regional burgers. Absolutely give this place a try and see why they've been around for nearly 100 years- just be prepared to stand or eat outside if necessary, given they only have about 12 seats. Don't be afraid to come out smelling of grease and oil (it's part of the diner experience)!"

"Spent a night of a multi-day road trip in El Reno to randomly discover that El Reno was the birthplace of the Oklahoma Onion Smash burger. So to stop in this town and have it be the birthplace of my favorite burger was pretty neat! Knowing what I know about El Reno now, I would have planned more time in El Reno! Robert's from the outside looks like tiny a hole in the wall kind of place, along Route 66. Reading a little bit turns out they are the oldest still operating Oklahoma Onion Smash burger place around so a true American Icon at that! The burger I was served was under seasoned (I didn't see anything go on to my burger, or any cooked after mine) I'm sure just a little salt would have made this burger truly delicious. The Fries were also unseasoned but since they were fresh out of the oil that problem was easily solved, and they were great! Overall, Robert's was not my Favorite burger I had while I was in El Reno, but worth a visit anyway! To be able to eat at the Oldest Running Oklahoma Smash burger joint was well worth my visit! I would probably go back here if I was in town anyway!"

"I cannot remember the first time I came to Robert's. It has been a family staple since before I was born. Mom would tell stories about getting a cheeseburger on her lunch break as a high school student. I have chased the taste of this fried onion cheeseburger for over 20 years and have never had anything that even comes close. Go try a Robert's fried onion cheeseburger today! If I lived locally, I'd be a daily customer. Thanks for feeding our bellies and hearts, Ed!"

"What a great experience. The burger is smashed with a pile of onions and adds a layer of the best onion burger out there. Fries were crispy, hot and fresh. Not enough seats but that is exactly why the atmosphere is unique and authentic. We loved it."

"If you want the true Rt 66, Oklahoma Onion Burger experience- this is the place you need to visit first in El Reno. Absolutely perfect grilled onions and beef. Nearby places are fun, but this one is authentic!! I can also say the chili dog is the best I ever had with an amazing slaw."
